The warehouse may receive pre-alert notices of impending Receipts called "ASN's" (Advanced Shipment Notices). From the point of view of the warehouse, these are referred to as "ARN's" (Advanced Receipt Notices).
ARNs may be created from EDI, or from an ARN Spreadsheet Import (see Data Upload Processing). In this section, ARNs are entered manually.
In the SphereWMS system, ALL Receiving starts with an open ARN in the SphereWMS system. This applies to "Direct" or "Blind" receiving which is when the material arrives at the warehouse unannounced. To conduct a Direct Receipt, an ARN is entered as well.
To access the Receiving Menu, from the Main Menu navigate to Operations and select "ARN/Receipt Processing".
